Our Firm offers a wide variety of expertise in the area of insurance law, and handles both first and third party litigation. We represent, and are approved counsel for, many insurers currently writing insurance in the United States.
Our practice in insurance coverage litigation, includes commercial and residential property, “bad faith”, agent’s errors and omissions, breach of contract, and general liability. Because of their size and perceived business practices, insurance companies are all too often targeted by Plaintiff’s lawyers, and many times are defendants to claims that are less than valid. These cases must be dealt with swiftly and aggressively. We provide our clients with such representation and do so in a creative, cost effective, and service-oriented manner.
Our representation of insurance companies also includes securing Examinations Under Oath, assisting the carrier in determining and dealing with fraudulent claims, and in negotiating with other insurers covering the same risk. Along those lines, we have been successful in persuading other insurance carriers, in additional insured and/or multiple policy situations, to share the costs of litigation both in costs and fees. Our lawyers are experienced in analyzing and assessing insurance policy language and, then, determining the obligations and duties a carrier may have under the insurance policy in light of the facts of a particular claim.
Additionally, our lawyers routinely present seminars to adjusters and claims professionals on how to avoid the pitfalls of adjusting claims and how to insulate the carrier, to the extent possible, from first party claims. We also lecture on the investigation and defense of third party claims
